Pairs and Spares Senior Adult Club
This senior adult group meets twice a month through the month of October. What a great way to meet new friends or socialize with old ones!  Enjoy food, fun, and fellowship during one of the covered dish or birthday celebrations.  For more information, call 803-642-7631 or e-mail Jessica Campbell at jcampbell@aiken.net.

SENIOR ADULT TRIPS

Senior Adult Day Trip: Augusta Canal
Mark your calendar for Thursday, June 1st. Enjoy the morning on a Canal Boat Tour, then visit the award-winning exhibits in the Canal Interpretive Center.  Enjoy lunch afterwards at a local restaurant. This trip is for ages 50 and up. Cost is $15 (lunch not included).  We will depart the Weeks Center at 9:15 a.m. Call 803-642-7631 for more information.

Senior Adult Day Trip: Fort Gordon Dinner Theatre
Join us on Friday, July 28th for the show: Forever Plaid. One of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory, this deliciously goofy revue centers on four young, eager male singers killed in a car crash in the 1950s on the way to their first big concert, and now miraculously revived for the posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams and perform the show that never was. This trip is for ages 50 and up.  The cost is $40. Depart the Weeks Center at 5:30 p.m.  Dinner is at 7:00 p.m. and the show begins at 8:00 p.m. Call 803-642-7631 for more information.

Come welcome Easter in style and fashion, with the senior citizen event featuring the modeling of hats, games, an Easter egg hunt, prizes, refreshments and fun.

The SilverSneakers® Fitness Program
The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department is offering a new program for seniors starting in January!  The SilverSneakers® Fitness Program is a unique physical activity program designed to encourage Medicare-eligible members to increase their physical activity.  If you are a member of Humana then you may be eligible to participate for FREE!  Muscular Strength and Range of Movement will meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 – 9:50 a.m.  Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills.  Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.   Get fit, have fun, and make friends with the SilverSneakers® Fitness Program!  Call 642-7631 for more information.

Tai Chi for Seniors
Based on an ancient Chinese martial art, Tai Chi is a form of exercise that improves balance, relaxation and concentration.  This class meets twice a week for six weeks. Dates are listed below in six week sessions.  The class is for those ages 50 and older and the cost is $ 80 per person per session.  All sessions are held at the Weeks Center from 11 am - 12 noon.  Call 803-642-7631 for more information.
