Apply for Temporary Summer 2006 Employment
beginning in Spring 2006

The City of Aiken will accept applications for temporary summer 2006 jobs (part-time and full-time) for the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department in Spring 2006.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, be available to work the entire period of the specific program without vacation and have strong leadership skills.

Water Safety Instructor
This position will teach swimming lessons, swimming instructions to youth and adults, along with lifeguard responsibilities. Applicants must submit copies of current Red Cross ALS and WSI Certification cards.
Hourly pay range: $7.00-$8.00 (based on qualifications and experience).

Lifeguard
This position will be responsible for life-guarding at the City pool. This position requires being available seven days a week. Applicants must submit copies of current Red Cross ALS Certification card.
Hourly pay range: $7.00-$8.00 (based on qualifications and experience).

Daycamp Counselors
The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department is accepting applications for Day Camp Counselors.  These temporary positions are for the Weeks and Smith-Hazel Activities Centers. Duties include: supervising children 5-12 years of age, planning daily activities, and arts and crafts activities. Experience in childcare preferred. Must be 18 years old and able to obtain Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification. Hours are mainly Monday through Friday 7:30am - 3:30pm with the possibility of some evening or weekend work. Hourly pay range: $7.00-$8.00 (based on qualifications and experience).
